Community Hui –A Plan for Karamea

When? Saturday 5th May at 1.00 pm until about 3.00 pm (includes afternoon tea)

Where? – Last Resort Cafe

Who? – Everyone!

What for? – To work out which projects under the Draft Karamea Community Plan will get underway in the next twelve months.

Where can I see the draft plan? - You can see this at the Information Centre and online here. A comprehensive report on the last community hui (August 2017) is available here.

What’s the process? – Working in groups to decide which ideas in the plan will be put into action over the next twelve months, who may be involved and what needs to be done. The five groups are based on the structure of the draft plan. They are:

  • Economic well-being
  • Environmental well-being
  • Social/Cultural well-being
  • Infrastructure
  • Education and learning/Community health and wellbeing

You decide which group you want to join and after the working groups have done their thing everyone present will reconvene as one group.

Who is going to facilitate the Hui? – Kathleen Gavigan

What happens after this? – The outcomes of the Hui will be documented and made available to the community for their input. Coordinators of the projects identified for action will convene get togethers to finalise the plans developed at the hui and get them underway.

Who can I talk to about the Hui?
