Karamea Photography Competition 2013

Photo Uploading
Photo submissions must be uploaded from 1 May through 30 June.
Scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable.
For all categories other than 'Digitally Altered' the photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the contest entrant.
For the category 'Digitally Altered' entries can contain altered images using editing programs like Photoshop, but all original images used to create the final entry must be the entrant's.
Image size must not exceed 800 pixels on the longest side.
Each photo file should be less than 2MB.
You can upload one (1) photo in any or each of the eight (8) categories.
Categories are:
1) Karamea  2) Track  3) Community  4) Estuary  5) Unexpected
6) Reflection  7) Black & White  8) Digitally Altered

Tips:
Although the upload interface will let you upload photos at higher resolution, the photo will degrade on quality as it will be automatically resized to the maximum allowed resolution.
To retain high quality of your photos we suggest that you resize the pictures before uploading.

Alternatively you can use a free photo editing software like GIMP or Picasa

Voting (Rating of Photos)
On-line voting will take place from 1 July through 31 July.
Voting will be anonymous. No one will be able to view the stars awarded until after the voting period has closed.
Please assign a number of stars to each photo where 10 stars is best.
You will be able to change your rating of each photo anytime through 31 July.

*** Only entrants with a New Zealand postal address will be eligible to receive prizes. ***

Awards: Category Winners
The photos receiving the most stars in each of the eight categories will be recognized as the category winner.
Each category winner will receive $20, plus a photographic print of their winning entry.

Awards: Grand Prize
The photo receiving the most stars will be deemed the overall competition winner.
Grand Prize winner will receive $80.
